Mark Baker will be in Lima, Peru, in early October to gather data on ergative case marking from speakers of the Shipibo-Konibo language. This work is partially supported by a small grant from the Rutgers Research Council, and will be assisted by our own Teresa Torres Bustamante. Mark is the fourth person associated with Rutgers to work on this language (following Beto, Jose, and Teresa). While there, he will also give talks on structural case at San Marcos University and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
