On September 16, The Rutgers Speech and Hearing Club had its inaugural meeting, led by Rella Firat (President), Becca Meiner (Treasurer), and Marla Durand (Secretary). The meeting was very well attended and reflected the interest in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology among students. There is a series of talks and activities planned for this year. Also at the meeting were Terri Rosenberg, a practicing Speech/Language Pathologist and a sponsor of the Club and Veneeta Dayal, the faculty advisor. The Club is allied with the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association. NSSLHA is the student affiliate organization of ASHA, which is the association that certifies all Speech Therapists and some Audiologists in the US. Congratulations to Rella for taking the lead on this!
